I. Conference Schedule

Friday, June 25th - Sunday, June 27th, 2021

II. Keynote Symposium and Selected Research Session Themes

This year’s keynote symposium session will address the theme “A New Era of Children’s Learning: Required Competencies and Learning Approaches” with a focus on how children’s learning can be envisioned in a world symbolized by the word “VUCA” (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity). “Agency” is one keyword for this concept as proposed in OECD’s Education 2030 Project, and in Japan “personalized learning” has been introduced by Central Council for Education in January 2021 for future educational policy. Considering these societal contexts and policy trends, we would like to examine the concept of a new era of learning for children in Japan by comparing the activities found in varied national contexts.
Additionally, the conference’s Selected Research Session I will address the theme of “International Comparisons of Articulation between Pre-school and Elementary School”, and the Selected Research Session II will address the theme of “Out-of-school Children and Youth (OOSCY): Factors that Hinder School Attendance and the Development of Educational Cooperation Networks in ASEAN Countries”.

III. Call for Presentation Proposals (Research Presentation and Roundtable Sessions)
